Toe Brachial Index test
Patients with an abnormally high ABI (above 1.3) often have diabetes and calcified vessels which cannot be completely compressed. The TBI or Toe Brachial Index tests the brachial systolic pressure against the large toe's systolic pressure with the brachial obtained by Doppler and the toe by photo plethysmograph.
