Strain Gauge Plethysmography

Hokanson strain gauge plethysmographs (SPG) have set the standard for quantitative bloodflow measurement for over 30 years. All our strain gauge plethysmographs are easily and accurately calibrated in-situ and can be used in a wide variety of applications.

Common applications of the strain gauge include measuring arterial bloodflow into the limbs and digits (also called arterial inflow, venous occlusion plethysmography, or forearm bloodflow), venous capacitance, and maximum venous outflow to detect deep venous thrombosis in the legs.
